Jones got his name “Baby Shack” from his team mates back in junior high school, because he grabbed every board that came off the glass. In 2004 he played against the AND 1 Mix Tape teams in the final four games, making his strongest statement with a 47 point performance in the Raleigh, N.C game. After this impressive performance he was offered a contract with the AND 1 team and he signed in 2004, making this year his third year with them.


BAD SANTA: (Kenny Brunner)

Brunner aka “Bad Santa” aka “The Bad 1” is a lightning-quick point guard who can penetrate the opposition effortlessly to create opportunities for his team mates to score or for him to score ‘AND 1” on his own. “Bad Santa” is known by many as a disruptive force for opposing teams because of his speed, quickness, surprising strength and anticipation. His ability to force the opposing team into turnovers is amazing. He is an inspirational, energetic motivation for his team mates and for what ever crowd he is entertaining.

Jackson was given the name “Escalade” by Duke Tango back in 1997 after he trucked down the lane over an opponent just like an “Escalade”.  He joined the Mix Tape Tour in 2002, this year being his 6th yeah playing with the team. He and the legendary Rafer Alston aka “Skip to My Lou” are homeboys and the whole time “Skip” was doing his thing with AND1 he kept asking “Escalade” to come and play with him and finally he did.


SPRINGS (Jamal Nelson)

Nelson has the amazing ability spring himself into the air at phenomenal heights and dunk over his opponents hence being donned with the nickname “Springs”. He is definitely one of the best high flyers around and has flaunted his skills on ESPN’s City Slam Magic Johnson’s “Who Go Game?” He is only new to the Mix Tape Tour only being offered a position on the team last year in 2006.

 


 

THE ASSASSIN: (Jerry Dupree)

Up until ’05 Dupree was known as “Trampoline” but then Tango renamed him as “The Assassin” because he was dunking so much he was killing guys on the court. In 2005 “The Assassin” played against the AND 1 Mix Tape Players and was scoring ridiculously over them with unbelievable dunks. So then in the off season he was approached with a contract to join the team officially and so he did. 2006 was “The Assassin’s “first season with this being his second year with them.

 


 

GO GET IT: (Tony Jones)

Jones along with his friends made up the name “Go Get It” it didn’t matter where abouts the ball was lobbed in the rim he would “go get it” Back in 2003, out in the west, Jones was playing on the opposing team when AND 1 showed great interest in the remarkable way he was throwing down anyone who tried to defend him. They then recruited him back in 2004 and he is now playing his fourth year with the AND 1 Mix Tape team.


PROFESSOR: (Grayson Boucher)

Duke Tango landed Boucher with the name “The Professor” because he said he was “schooling people” on the court. He won his endorsement contract with AND 1 in the summer of 2003 after battling in out on ESPN’s Street Ball, was officially offered a spot on the team in 2004 and has now been playing in the Mix Tape Tour for five years. “The Professor” has roles in the upcoming films “Semi –Pro and “Ball Don’t
Lie”


SILK: (Andre Poole)

Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland

Position: Guard

Poole was nicknamed “Silk” by his coach back when he was up and coming and playing for Baltimore. His coach chose the name “Silk” after Poole played a game against Virginia and scored a massive 36 points but made it look so effortless and smooth like “silk”. Originally “Silk” played against the Mix Tape players in 2005 and was then asked to join the team officially that same year and has now been playing alongside them for two years.


HOT SAUCE: (Philip Champion)

Position: Point Guard
Number: 3

“Hot Sauce” toured with the Mix Tape team during 2001 and 2004. He took some time off during 2005 to care for his new daughter and star in feature film titled “Crossover”. He is now back on tour having re-signed with AND 1 in 2006, making this year his fifth with the team. Till this day he is still one of the most recognizable names in the streetball and known all over the world for his incredible variety of hand balling tricks.


8th Wonder: (Antwan Scott)

Scott was dubbed "8th Wonder" for his dominating post play, outstanding offensive skills, great leaping and shot-blocking prowess. He also possesses great quickness for his size and runs the floor extremely well. Scott has put his streetball skills on display in Milwaukee, Chicago, Providence and Boston, entertaining crowds as part of the tour's unique style.
